From April 27th forward Free Bridge Realty, llc is setting aside $150 from each property settlement that will go into a first time home-owner scholarship fund. If you have been saving and are getting fairly close to home-ownership, but could use another $1500 to help cover your closing costs, you can apply for this scholarship. 1 application per family; relatives and agents with our office may not apply.
A 3-person independent committee will review the applications (without any names on them), and choose the winning home-buyer.
To qualify for a mortgage you will need a credit score close to 620 or so. Lenders can help you identify which items are best to tackle if your score falls short of that.
See some of the local lenders on freebridgerealty.com that may be able to help give advice on what to target for a better credit score. This could get you on the path to be pre-qualified for a mortgage.
In 300 words or less, let us know your story – it can be a song, a poem, bullet points, paragraphs; creativity is highly encouraged! Tell your story – why you should be the first Bridging the Gap home-owner scholarship winner. Some ideas are: steps you have been taking to get to own a home, what it would mean to you, circumstances and obstacles, things you really want in a home/yard; another criteria is your creativity.
The scholarship will be awarded at the settlement table, when you purchase your first property. It must be used within 6 months, or it expires and goes to another.
The odds of winning this scholarship are based on the number of applicants and we will be posting and emailing updates on our social media and our office window, as we approach the fall.
